Plan a Date Night With Your Spouse
Too often husbands and wives get so busy with their careers, household tasks, and family responsibilities that they forget to take time to spend just with each other. It's easy to neglect each other, because you know that the person you care about the most will overlook the fact that you are busy and will be understanding about it. Still, it's not good for any relationship for there not to be times when you spend time just with each other.
One solution to this problem is to pick one night a week, and designate it as "Date Night." Once you establish the day of the week, try not to schedule other activities over top of it unless it becomes absolutely necessary. If you treat Date Night as a priority in your weekly schedule, it will be more special to the two of you.
To make it more of a shared activity, you should take turns planning and paying for your dates. It doesn't need to be anything especially elaborate, and it shouldn't be too expensive. It should just be something that you both would enjoy or something that you already enjoy and want to try sharing with your partner. In fact, Date Night can be a good way of learning new things about each other and sharing your interests. For example, taking your spouse to a dinner and a movie would be a nice evening, as would a walk in the park and hamburgers at a fast food restaurant.
One important thing to keep in mind is to remain open-minded to what your partner has planned. Although it might not be your favorite activity, you should let them take the lead without trying to change or influence their plans. After all, next week it will be your turn to plan, and you can pick the activities.
